Design and Assessment of CEPs, CEAs, OELs, PBLs

<p>The Civil Engineering Department of HITEC University conducted a professional development session titled “Design and Assessment of CEPs, CEAs, OELs, PBLs” on May 8, 2025, at 12:00 PM in Iqbal Auditorium. The session was delivered by Prof. Dr. Fiaz Tahir from University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Taxila, who provided comprehensive guidance on Outcome-Based Education (OBE) practices with a focus on the effective design and assessment of Complex Engineering Problems (CEPs), Complex Engineering Activities (CEAs), Outcome-Embedded Learning (OEL), and Project-Based Learning (PBL). The speaker highlighted methods for developing measurable Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs), aligning them with Program Learning Outcomes (PLOs), preparing assessment rubrics, and ensuring compliance with accreditation standards. The session included interactive discussions and practical examples that enabled faculty members to strengthen their understanding of modern teaching and assessment approaches, supporting continuous quality improvement and enhancing academic standards within the department.</p>
