About This Event
RoboFesta 8.0 was a grand national-level robotics and technology festival successfully held on 17th, 18th, and 19th December at HITEC University Taxila. The event aimed to promote innovation, creativity, and hands-on engineering skills among students from across Pakistan. Universities from all major regions actively participated, including UIT Karachi, NUML Mianwali, UET Peshawar, and several other renowned institutions, making the event a true reflection of national technological collaboration and academic excellence.
The festival hosted an impressive range of competitive and exhibition-based activities, featuring more than 33 modules encompassing robotics, programming, automation, artificial intelligence, electronics, and technical problem-solving challenges. Among these, the Heavyweight RoboWar and Lightweight RoboWar competitions emerged as the most anticipated and crowd-pulling events. These high-intensity contests showcased robust robot designs, advanced control strategies, and innovative engineering solutions, maintaining a high level of excitement and engagement throughout the event.
Addressing the participants, Dr. S. Kamran Afaq, Vice Chancellor of HITEC University Taxila, appreciated the enthusiasm and technical competence displayed by the students. He emphasized that platforms such as RoboFesta play a vital role in bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. He encouraged students to continue exploring emerging technologies, highlighting that innovation-driven events are essential for nurturing problem-solving abilities, entrepreneurial thinking, and future leadership in engineering and technology.
More than 2000 participants, including students, faculty members, and technology enthusiasts, took part in the three-day event. RoboFesta 8.0 provided an invaluable platform for participants to demonstrate their talent, exchange ideas, and gain exposure to real-world engineering challenges. The event fostered teamwork, creativity, and healthy competition, significantly contributing to the professional development and technical confidence of young engineers.
Reflecting on the success of the event, Engineer Muhammad Mahad Shah, Faculty Head of HIROBOTEC at HITEC University, expressed pride in the dedication and collaborative efforts of the organizing team and volunteers. He motivated students to view robotics and automation not merely as competitions, but as tools for solving real industrial and societal problems. He further emphasized that HITEC University remains committed to providing state-of-the-art facilities, mentorship, and industry-oriented platforms to empower students and prepare them for the evolving technological landscape.
Overall, RoboFesta 8.0 proved to be a remarkable success, reinforcing HITEC University Taxila’s position as a leading hub for robotics, innovation, and technological advancement in Pakistan, while inspiring the next generation of engineers, researchers, and innovators to push the boundaries of modern engineering.
