Department of Mathematics

The Department of Mathematics at HITEC University, established in 2010, is committed to excellence in teaching, research, and innovation. The department offers BS Mathematics, BS Mathematics with Data Science, MS Mathematics, and PhD Mathematics programs, providing students with a strong foundation in pure and applied mathematics while addressing the evolving needs of science, technology, and data-driven industries.

The curricula are continuously reviewed in accordance with the guidelines of the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan and international academic standards. Emphasis is placed on mathematical reasoning, computational skills, research, and interdisciplinary learning to prepare graduates for careers in academia, industry, scientific computing, artificial intelligence, finance, and data science.

The department has established a strong reputation for its MS and PhD Mathematics programs, attracting students from across Pakistan and producing highly qualified graduates and impactful research published in leading international journals. Supported by a team of experienced, research-active faculty members, the department has successfully graduated 24 PhD and over 200 MS scholars.

The newly launched BS Mathematics with Data Science program integrates rigorous mathematical foundations with statistics, optimization, machine learning, data analytics, and computational modeling. Through a dedicated Mathematics and Data Science Laboratory, students gain practical experience in programming, mathematical computing, simulation, and data analysis using modern computational tools.

The department also fosters a vibrant research culture through seminars, workshops, and the annual International Conference on Applied and Engineering Mathematics (ICAEM), providing students and faculty with opportunities for scholarly collaboration and innovation.
