Introduction:
I am Muhammad Waqas, and my journey at HITEC University began in 2018. Coming from Bahawalpur with a passion for mechanical engineering. I knew HITEC was the place that would enable me to pursue my dream. The university's reputation for high academic standards and a vibrant learning environment drew me in, and my experience there was nothing short of incredible.
At HITEC, I found the perfect balance between theoretical and practical learning. The professors were deeply knowledgeable and made sure we understood the real-world applications of what we learned. Through research projects and practical exercises, I built a solid foundation in mechanical engineering, which has been invaluable in my career.
Career Journey:
After graduating in 2022, I secured my first job at Gresham Eastern Pvt LTD Karachi as a Design Engineer, worked on design of boilers, pressure vessels, and heat exchangers as per ASME Standards. A few months later, I received an offer from Solarkaz International , an ASME-certified company, through LinkedIn. There, I worked as a Design and Application Engineer, further deepening my expertise in designing of steam boilers and power boilers (Biomass, natural gas and diesel fired boiler ) waste heat recovery boilers , thermal oil heaters, pressure vessels , hot water boilers , heat exchangers and power plant equipments as per ASME standards.
A year later, I joined Fabcon Design and Engineering in Lahore, another ASME-certified company, again via LinkedIn, where I continued to grow as a Design Engineer and worked on the mechanical and process design of steam boiler and power boilers (step grate , chain grate , dumping grate and vibrating grate ) as per ASME standards. Alhamdulillah, I eventually secured my current role again via LinkedIn at GASCO Qatar as a Design Engineer, working on the process and mechanical design of pressure vessels, above and under ground storage tanks , Steam Boilers, heat exchangers and hot water boiler as per ASME standards.
HITEC University prepared me for every challenge in my career, not just with strong theoretical knowledge but also with practical skills and software expertise that I use daily in my work. I am grateful to HITEC for helping me build the skills that have allowed me to thrive.
Advice for New Students:
To all aspiring engineers, HITEC University offers more than just a degree; it gives you the opportunity to grow, learn, and prepare for a successful career. Take advantage of the resources, engage in practical projects, and always keep asking questions. Mechanical engineering demands both academic knowledge and hands-on experience, and HITEC provides the perfect platform for both. Passion, dedication, and a constant thirst for knowledge will take you far.
Good luck on your journey!
I, Muhammad Ahmad, proudly share my journey from being a student at HITEC University's Mechanical Engineering Department (Batch 2019-2023) to achieving professional excellence. I am thrilled to have been appointed as Assistant Manager (BPS-17) at Pakistan Ordnance Factories under the Ministry of Defence Production on May 2024. Currently, I am also pursuing my Master's degree in Design and Manufacturing Engineering at SMME, NUST, further honing my skills. I extend my gratitude to HITEC University for laying the foundation of my success.
Muhammad Humayun Hayat
I am Muhammad Humayun Hayat from Batch 17 Mechanical Engineering Department.
I would like to share my success story with you. After my graduation, I completed certifications related health and safety at workplace i.e. Nebosh IGC and entered the vast market of UAE to try my luck.
On my visit to UAE, I secured my first job at UAE as Executive QHSE at Universal Voltas (TATA group). I was given the project of a Power Plant in Dubai (Aweer Power Plant). After working 06 months in Dubai, I was transferred to Al Ain (city under emirates of Abu Dhabi). This project was facility management project covering a wide range of clients i.e. Al Ain Zoo, Abu Dhabi Food and Safety Authority, Integrated Transport Centre, Department of Culture and Tourism, Al Ain Municipality etc. and were ranged to more than 140 Facilities in Al Ain.
After successful completion of this project with Universal Voltas which ended in December 2023. I got an offer from a new company EJADAH (A Dubai Holding Group) as Senior QHSE Engineer for Al Ain Zoo Project.
Currently, I am working with EJADAH at Al Ain Zoo, UAE. Here, every day I am learning and I can see improvement in myself. My degree helped me a lot in problem solving, communication, client relations and workplace safety and risk control as well as management.
Alhamdulillah, I am very happy with my work till now. In future, I am planning to further pursue my studies by enrolling in some international courses that can help me out in becoming more professional.
Thankyou.

Muhammad Mubashar.
I am a proud Mechanical engineering graduate of Batch 2k16 from HITEC University Taxila. From day one I was always interested in mechanisms, fabricating creative articles and Products. My time at HITEC was filled with enthusiastic projects, participation in different competitions such as Bridge design, glider design and most famous of all the ROBOWARS organized by HIROBOTECH.
I am profoundly grateful to my university for providing me with a solid foundation in mechanical engineering and design principles. The rigorous curriculum, dedicated faculty, and state-of-the-art facilities have equipped me with the knowledge and skills necessary to embark on my career journey as a mechanical design engineer specializing in automation. As I step into the professional world, I carry with me the values instilled by my alma mater and am confident in my ability to make meaningful contributions to the field. Thank you to my university for shaping me into the engineer I am today and preparing me for the exciting challenges that lie ahead.
I started my journey as a Mechanical Design engineer and as always, I am a great admirer of Automation. This led me to design and prototype the Core Stacking Machine for Power transformers at creative group of companies. I thank HITEC UNIVERSITY for infusing in me the interest in Automation from early days and giving me platform to experiment and improve my projects.
Thankyou.
Muhammad Mudassar Shahbaz
After graduating with a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from HITEC in June 2017, I moved to Australia in February 2018. Initially employed as a construction laborer in a residential tower project in Sydney, I transitioned to an engineering role within the same company when they recognized my capabilities extended beyond mere laboring tasks.
During my initial year, I made valuable connections which led me to freelance engineering work and subcontracting for my former employer. This enabled me to make more valuable contacts. Collaborating with a former manager, Jim, we established Torinex Consulting Engineers in 2019, with Jim as the owner-director and myself as a shareholder Associate. The company has thrived since then, securing construction design projects across Sydney. Personally, not only I have learned the consulting side of the business, but I am also among the few engineers in New South Wales, holding multiple registrations with the state regulatory body, certifying authority in five different design fields namely Drainage, Fire Hydrants, Sprinklers, Smoke Control, and Mechanical Engineering. My versatile experience enables me to run my business as a one-stop shop for all the Mechanical, Plumbing, Fire, Stormwater, and Civil design services.
In late 2022, I set up an office in Fateh Jang, Pakistan which serves as an extension to my Australian business. Currently, I have employed three other Hitonians from the Mechanical and Civil departments at above-market remuneration and have been providing them with training and learning opportunities.
While I acknowledge progress, I consider success an ongoing journey and there is a long way to. I have been inspiring fellow Hitonians since 2018 when the unemployment rate was very high in Australia. My message to all young engineers at HITEC is that you will never become successful without a Plan and from my personal experience, I can tell that it won’t happen by accident or via luck. Gone are the days of conventional employment. Job hunting is beyond borders now and your end goal should be to run a business. Consider every new day an opportunity to try even harder and every setback an opportunity to perform even better.Yours faithfully,
