Chairman Board of Governors
It gives me immense pleasure that the HITEC University has achieved the status of a highly reputed seat of learning and research among its contemporary institutions in line with the aspirations of the founding fathers. It continues to impart the quality education in the fields of engineering, sciences and technology and has ventured into offering new programmes as per the industry requirements.
Universities play a crucial role in generating new ideas, and in accumulating and transmitting knowledge. Higher education institutions are major sources of providing skilled human capital required for industry in particular and society in general. They are indispensable players in enhancing the socio-economic environment and quality of life. I am pleased to inform that the research output of the University has remained commendable. The faculty and students are involved actively in research activities in collaboration with industrial sector, especially the R&D projects undertaken with Heavy Industries Taxila.
The standing of HITEC University is praise-worthy in the national effort to extend the base of scientific and engineering education. It has graduated more than 4,000 competent and quality engineers, scientists and Islamic scholars who are proficient enough to meet the modern day challenges effectively. The shifting of its education system to Outcome Based Education (OBE) under the umbrella of Washington Accord and accreditation of its Engineering Programs under the OBE System has opened the doors for its graduates for employment at national and international level. This is the result of sustained efforts the University has made over the years towards faculty development, research and creativity.
The University keeps abreast with the modern emerging technologies and fields of knowledge and has started new academic programmes of Robotics and Automation, Internet of Things, Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, Data Sciences and Business Analytics at undergraduate level.
The initiative of offering short courses in the technical fields under ‘Kamyab Jawan Program’ through National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) is remarkable and has contributed in national effort of generating skilled workforce to meet the demand at national and international level.
The foreign linkages with University of Strathclyde Glasgow, United Kingdom, The University of Missouri-Kansas City, United States of America, Istanbul Technical University, Turkey and Universiti Teknologi, Malaysia are also available under the student exchange programmes. I am confident that our undergraduate and postgraduate students will take full advantage of excellent research and learning opportunities available in these prominent world institutions.
The Board of Governors and the University management remains committed to fulfill the development needs of the University, and provide excellent environment for the academic learning and ethical training of the students. We reiterate our efforts to provide premium quality education accessible to all by conforming to the vision of the founders and by drawing our strength from our motto “In Truth I Triumph”.
May Allah Almighty grant success to the HITEC University in all its endeavours, Ameen.
