About Department

Welcome to the Department of Civil Engineering at HITEC University Taxila established in 2019 to meet the growing demand for skilled civil engineers in Pakistan and beyond. Our department is committed to providing a comprehensive education that equips students with the knowledge and skills necessary to tackle the challenges of the 21st century.

Civil engineering is a diverse field encompassing specialties such as structural engineering, transportation engineering, geo-technical engineering, construction management, water resources, and environmental engineering. With significant regional infrastructure developments like the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and the urgent need for water reservoirs to address water scarcity, there is an increasing demand for proficient civil engineers.

Our Bachelor of Science (BS) in Civil Engineering program, accredited by the Washington Accord, ensures our curriculum meets international standards and prepares students for global opportunities. Spanning four years (eight semesters) and comprising 139 credit hours, our program is meticulously designed to meet the requirements of the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) while also addressing the evolving needs of the industry.

In addition to academic excellence, we prioritize practical experience and professional development. We offer internship opportunities to our students, providing hands-on experience in real-world settings and allowing them to apply classroom knowledge to practical scenarios.
