The session emphasized the importance of faith, character, and purpose in achieving personal and societal success.

HITEC University Sports Battle – Women’s Futsal Final

HITEC University proudly hosted its First Sports Battle, a mega interdepartmental event where students showcase their skills in futsal, cricket, badminton, table tennis, athletics, basketball, and volleyball.

The Women’s Futsal Final was a thrilling match between Management Sciences and Computer Engineering. In the closing minutes, the Management Sciences team secured victory with two brilliant goals!

Congratulations to the champions and a big round of applause to all participants for their sportsmanship, dedication, and energy.

Organized by the Directorate of Student Affairs and Sports Society, the Sports Battle aims to promote teamwork, leadership, and a healthy competitive spirit—values that extend far beyond the sports arena.

National Broadband Network Forum 2024

Officials from HITEC University Taxila participated in the National Broadband Forum, organized by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), which successfully brought together industry leaders, academia, and government officials to strengthen industry-academia linkages and discuss key developments in the IT sector. The prestigious event was graced by the presence of Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani, Chairman Senate of Pakistan, and Ms. Shiza Fatima, Minister of State for IT and Telecom. The honorable Chairman PTA, Maj. Gen. (Retd.) Hafeez ur Rehman, warmly welcomed all the esteemed guests and participants.

Attendees from HITEC University Taxila, who were invited by PTA to attend the forum, included Prof. Dr. S. Kamran Afaq (Worthy Vice Chancellor, HITEC University), Prof. Dr. Junaid Ali Khan (Chairperson, Department of Computer Science), and Dr. Saima Shaheen (Head, Software Engineering Program). In representation of Dr. Saima Shaheen, Mr. Talha Saeed, Lecturer, Software Engineering Department, participated in the event on her behalf.

The event provided a platform for discussions between academia and multiple CEOs from the IT industry. Key areas of focus included enhancing collaboration between universities and the IT sector to address industry needs, promote research and development, and bridge the skill gap between graduates and industry expectations.

The forum successfully highlighted the importance of industry-academia partnerships in fostering innovation and ensuring the growth of Pakistan's IT sector. Attendees shared insights, exchanged ideas, and explored avenues for mutual cooperation to drive progress in the digital economy.

The National Broadband Forum was a significant step towards building stronger ties between educational institutions and the IT industry, aligning with the broader goals of technological advancement and national development.

Dua for the martyrs of APS tragedy

In remembrance of the APS tragedy, HITEC University’s Character Building Society, in collaboration with the Literary and Debating Society, organized a heartfelt gathering.

The event began with the Tilawat of the Holy Quran, followed by a moving Nazm recitation by Syed Sarmad Shah Bukhari. Ms. Mahnoor Aftikhar delivered a brief yet impactful speech, and Dr. Taj ud Din Al-Azhari led a special Dua for the martyrs and their families.

A HITEC student also shared his heart-wrenching personal story of that tragic day, leaving the audience deeply moved.

It was a solemn occasion that reminded us of the sacrifices made and the resilience shown. We remember, we pray, and we honor all the martyrs. May their souls rest in peace.
