The visitation team appointed by Engineering Accreditation Board (EAB) of Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) conducted a two-day accreditation visit of HITEC University, Taxila on July 7-8, 2023 to evaluate the BS Civil Engineering program, for which the first accreditation visit for intake batch 2019 and onwards was due. During the visit, the team met with the Acting Vice Chancellor & Dean Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Registrar, Treasurer and the HoD along with other stakeholders.The formal presentation pertaining to general aspects of HEI and its programs alongwith an overview of relevant Faculties was given by the Registrar on behalf of the Acting Vice Chancellor & Dean Engineering and Technology of the HEI.The departmental presentation was given by the Chairperson of the department. After the departmental presentation, the Convener of visitation team along with PEC representative visited the general facilities of the institution i.e., Central Library, Faculty Cafeteria, Nusrat Auditorium, Iqbal Auditorium, Students Cafeteria, Boys Hostel, HIT Day Care Center, Gymnasium, Indoor and Outdoor Sports facilities and Swimming Pool area etc. After that, meetings were held with various stakeholders like Director QAC, Registrar, Treasurer, Controller of Examination, Placement & Student Affairs Officers etc. In parallel, the program evaluators visited the program specific facilities, i.e. classrooms and laboratories etc. Apart from comprehensive review of documents and evidence pertaining to various accreditation criteria, the team also held meetings and interviews with all the stakeholders such as students, faculty, staff members, alumni and employers.
This seminar was arranged to provide hands-on experience about design and development of web sites through incorporating modern tools and technologies. It was a two-day workshop where on the first day students were trained about development skills and second day was about a competition among the participants.
Literary and Debating Society organized Mushaira in which notable poets and poetess were in attendance. Other guests include Janaab Rahat Sarhadi for Sadaraat with Janaab Salmaan Basit as Mehmaan e Khasoosi along with Janaab Talib Ansari, Janaab Rana Saeed Doshani and Mohtarma Shafquat Hayat Shafaq as Shaan e Mehfil. All poets and the poetess had their own unique voice and style which was highly appreciated by students from diverse backgrounds.
Directorate of student affairs organised a session to give a close up on innovative business. We had Asif Dada as our guest speaker who is a highly accomplished Agile transformation coach, social entrepreneur, and innovation expert. He has undergone specialized training in leadership and innovation from Harvard University. As a Senior Adviser for Razzaq Capital, he offers invaluable guidance to the US conglomerate involved in diverse fields such as pharmaceuticals, food distribution, real estate, and IT. Over the last two decades, Asif has played a pivotal role in transforming large public school districts in the USA as a cabinet level school administrator. Additionally, he has founded and collaborated with several startups in the US and Pakistan and is an integral part of the JumpStart Pakistan team. He share his experience with our students and guided them to becoming good businessman and entrepreneur.
Science Society organized a Seminar on Project Management and chief guest of the event was Mr. Basit Ellahi. He is the Founder of Nova Pakistan and an experienced counsellor in professional and industrial trainings, in both local and international organizations like DigiPakistan-National Skills Development Initiative, SOFTOO and EYCON. He has also worked as a Software Engineer in HI-TECH Plastics Wah Cantt, and Seven Software Development PVT LTD. He shared his experience and guided students to have a good grip on project management
An MoU has been signed between HITEC University Taxila and NAVTTC for smooth execution of the training on different topics including Artificial Intelligence (Robotics), Industrial Automation, Mobile Application Development, Game Development and Modelling, and Mechatronics (Robotics). In the first batch a total of 165 candidates completed their training. The graduation ceremony was held in Iqbal Auditorium, in which, Honorable Vice Chancellor Professor Dr. Kamran Afaq, and Director QAC Professor Dr. Tahir Nadeem Malik addressed students and their parents, and highlighted the impact of these trainings in practical life.
