HITEC University Gears Up for HEC Zone E Table Tennis Championship with Manager's Meeting and Draws


In preparation for the upcoming HEC Zone E Table Tennis Championship, HITEC University hosted a manager’s meeting today, bringing together Directors of Sports from 10 universities across Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Taxila, and Kashmir. The championship is set to begin on November 6, 2024, with both singles and doubles categories contested by some of the best university players in the region.


During the meeting, event details and logistics were discussed, ensuring a smooth and well-coordinated tournament. Draws for both singles and doubles events were conducted, adding an air of excitement as each team received their match placements.


The championship promises to be a showcase of athletic skill, sportsmanship, and competitive spirit. We look forward to seeing these talented players in action and welcome the support of the university community in making this event a success.

ECG lab pictures and videos (Biomedical Instrumentation-1)

We are pleased to highlight the recent conduction of Lab in Instrumentation Lab on 31st October 2024. on Electrocardiogram (ECG or EKG) measurement by our 5th semester students under the supervision of Engr. Atiqa Saleem (Lecturer) at Biomedical Engineering Department.


An electrocardiogram (ECG or EKG) is a non-invasive test that measures the electrical activity of the heart. An ECG can provide information about the heart's rate and rhythm, and can help diagnose conditions like coronary heart disease, atrial fibrillation, and heart attack. It can also be used to monitor how well heart treatments are working.


In this Lab we used BIOPAC Setup and ECG Lead system.
The Lab focused on ECG-1 "Observe rate and rhythm changes in the ECG associated with body position and breathing". Parameters that monitored were as follows:


  1. Supine
  2. Seated
  3. Inhale
  4. Exhale
  5. After exercise
  6. Supine ( systolic/Diastolic)
  7. After exercise (systolic/Diastolic)

Final Year Title Defence Presentation (FYDP)

We are pleased to highlight the "Final Year Title Defence Presentation" of Final Year Design Projects (FYDP) by final year students of Biomedical Engineering Department.

The Final Year Design Projects (FYDP) is designed to bring together all the course knowledge and skills taught in lectures or labs and apply them to real-world problem. Students submitted their proposal in 7th semester and title/proposal defense presentation held on 30th-October-2024 at Biomedical Department, Room# EE-09.

Final year project (FYDP) committee members are nominated by Chairman Biomedical Engineering Department- Dr.Nizam Ud Din. It comprises of a convener Dr. Sachal (FYDP Coordinator) and 4-5 members to monitor and schedule all the activities related to FYDP.

Sprint Oil and Gas, a leading multinational oil and gas services company, conducted a successful recruitment drive at HITEC University, attracting top talent from among the university's fresh graduates Mechanical Engineering Department.


The drive aimed to identify and recruit exceptional individuals to join Sprint Oil and Gas's team, supporting its clients, including MOL, OGDCL, PETRONAS, and African Oil. The event provided students an opportunity to showcase their skills and secure exciting career prospects.


We are impressed by HITEC University's talented graduates, said Mr. Khawar Mushtaq, Lead Supervisor and Senior Field Engineer at Sprint Oil and Gas Services. This recruitment drive aligns with our commitment to nurturing young talent and driving innovation in the oil and gas industry."


It was a walk-in interview and the shortlisted candidates underwent interviews conducted by a panel from HITEC University's Mechanical Engineering Department.

Kashmir Solidarity Walk

HITEC University held a solidarity walk to honor the resilience of our Kashmiri brothers and sisters facing ongoing atrocities. Students from all departments joined together, walking from the cafe to Israr Block, united in their commitment to peace and justice for Kashmir. The event concluded with a heartfelt dua led by Dr. Taj ud Din Al-Azhari, seeking strength and protection for Kashmiris enduring hardships. May our voices and prayers echo as a message of hope and support.

Breast Cancer Awareness

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, HITEC University hosted a vital awareness session led by Dr. Nida from HITEC Medical College. Faculty members and students from all departments gathered to learn about the importance of early detection and proactive health measures. This interactive session shed light on the critical need for awareness, self-examination, and regular screenings, especially during October, a month dedicated worldwide to breast cancer awareness. Together, we are building a community that is educated, empowered, and supportive in the fight against breast cancer.

HITEC University Hosts HEC Intervarsity Cricket Championship for Zone E in Collaboration with PCB

HITEC University is proud to host the Higher Education Commission's (HEC) Intervarsity Cricket Championship for Zone E, in collaboration with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). This prestigious event features participation from 14 universities across the region, divided into three pools:


  • Pool A: HITEC University Taxila, International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), University of AJK Muzaffarabad, University of Kotli AJK
  • Pool B: Air University, National University of Modern Languages (NUML), Capital University of Science & Technology (CUST), PMAS Arid Agriculture University, National University of Technology (NUTECH)
  • Pool C: COMSATS University Islamabad, Health Services Academy, University of Engineering & Technology (UET) Taxila, National Skills University Islamabad, Institute of Space Technology (IST)

The event kicks off on October 21, 2024, with the final match scheduled for November 2, 2024, at HITEC University. Matches will also take place at COMSATS University Islamabad and International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI). We extend our heartfelt thanks to ,b>Mr. Mushtaq Ahmed, Director Sports at COMSATS, and Mr. Khalid Chaudhary from IIUI, for their generous support in providing grounds.


We also express our deep appreciation to Mr. Javed Ali Memon, Director Sports HEC, for entrusting HITEC University with the honor of hosting this event.
