Academic Deficiencies

A student who obtains one or more of the following grades in semester final result is considered academically deficient:-

  • An “F” grade in any subject.
  • Semester GPA less than 2.00.
  • CGPA less than 2.00.
  • “I” (Incomplete) grade in any course.

A student shall be dropped from the Masters‟ program if:-

  • Fails in more than one course in MS (six Courses for MBA) in whole course work;
  • First semester GPA is less than 2.00 (less than 0.75 for MBA);
  • CGPA remains below 2.50 after completion of course work even after availing repetition of courses allowed under the rules;
  • CGPA less than 2.50;
  • “I” (Incomplete) grade in any course.

A student shall be dropped from the PhD degree program if:

  • Receives „F‟ grade in more than one course.
  • Fails after repeating the course.
  • On completion of course work and even after availing the chances for improvement of grades, the CGPA remains below 3.00
  • Fails twice in the comprehensive examination.
  • On disciplinary grounds when recommended by the Discipline Committee.
  • Other conditions are also applicable as mentioned in these rules.
