ECG lab pictures and videos (Biomedical Instrumentation-1)

We are pleased to highlight the recent conduction of Lab in Instrumentation Lab on 31st October 2024. on Electrocardiogram (ECG or EKG) measurement by our 5th semester students under the supervision of Engr. Atiqa Saleem (Lecturer) at Biomedical Engineering Department.

An electrocardiogram (ECG or EKG) is a non-invasive test that measures the electrical activity of the heart. An ECG can provide information about the heart's rate and rhythm, and can help diagnose conditions like coronary heart disease, atrial fibrillation, and heart attack. It can also be used to monitor how well heart treatments are working.

In this Lab we used BIOPAC Setup and ECG Lead system.
The Lab focused on ECG-1 "Observe rate and rhythm changes in the ECG associated with body position and breathing". Parameters that monitored were as follows:

  1. Supine
  2. Seated
  3. Inhale
  4. Exhale
  5. After exercise
  6. Supine ( systolic/Diastolic)
  7. After exercise (systolic/Diastolic)
