Quality Assurance Policy Statement

The QA program has been introduced in the HITEC University to assure and continuously improve the quality of all areas of its operations, i.e. academics, research, administration and collaboration with other agencies. The aim is to make HITEC University an epitome of quality.

Our QA program has a strong endorsement of the senior management tiers like the Board of Governors, The Vice Chancellor, Deans of the Faculties and Heads of Departments. In order to manage the QA program efficiently, the university has established a dedicated department headed by a Director QA&C. This department directly interacts with all other entities in the university.

Mission Statement

To coordinate and evaluate quality assurance processes in teaching, learning, research and support services aimed at achieving the university goals through:-

  • Inculcating a culture of quality in the University.
  • Conforming to international standards of quality assurance.
  • Improving the existing quality in teaching / learning and assessment process.
  • Assuring compliance of quality measures.

Objectives

The objectives of Department of Quality Assurance & Collaboration in the HITEC University are as stated below:

  • To build institutional capabilities in forming quality processes/policies.
  • To systematically implement the quality processes/policies.
  • To enhance teaching, research and service quality of academic and administrative departments.

Functions

The functions of Department of Quality Assurance & Collaboration in the HITEC University are as stated below:

  1. To develop quality assurance policy in synchronism with the development plans of HITEC University, keeping in view the international standards and practices.
  2. To deduce specific action points from the approved policy for compliance.
  3. To coordinate efforts of all departments of the university for internal and external quality assessment processes.
  4. To initiate review of existing policies and prepare suggestions for improvement.
  5. To conduct Graduating Student’s Survey, Alumni Feedback Survey, Employer Feedback Survey or any other survey required by the university in order to attain CQI cycle completion.
  6. To analyze the results of these surveys and compute the levels of attainment using appropriate Key Point Indices (KPI) and conveying the resultant data to the concerned departments.
  7. To conduct course / teacher evaluation twice in each semester for generating reports to assess teachers’ performance. The report is submitted to the competent authority and the Deans of various faculties.
  8. To receive names of students, from the departments, who may be failing to achieve some Course Learning Outcomes (CLO).
  9. To inform the department about such students, as mentioned above, to take remedial measures.
  10. To strive to continually enhance the quality assurance activities.
  11. To track the performance of students who may have proceeded aboard to Istanbul Technical University (ITU), Turkey or University of Strathclyde, UK.
  12. To seek avenues for collaboration with other reputed universities and to prepare an appropriate draft for the consequent MOU.
