Entrepreneurship Day

The event provided a platform for students to apply their business knowledge in a real-world setting, demonstrating creativity, marketing strategies, and customer engagement. Attendees enjoyed a lively atmosphere filled with interactive activities, delicious treats, and unique handmade crafts. The initiative not only encouraged students to explore their entrepreneurial potential but also fostered teamwork, innovation, and practical business experience.

Clean Green Drive by Adventure and Social Welfare Society

The Adventure and Social Welfare Society organized a Clean Green Drive at the heart of Islamabad on Trail 5 of Margalla Hills. Students from all departments of HITEC University actively participated in cleaning the garbage along this scenic track, enhancing its natural beauty. They also raised awareness among fellow hikers, encouraging them to avoid littering and protect the environment.

At HITEC University, we prioritize not only quality education but also Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This initiative directly aligns with SDG 15: Life on Land, which focuses on protecting, restoring, and promoting the sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems for the betterment of society.

Alumni Homecoming 2.0

A night to remember-HITONIAN's Second Homecoming'24

HITEC University arranged Alumni Homecoming on 21-Dec-2024. The event was a resounding success in providing an excellent opportunity for alumni to reconnect and reminisce their old memories. The event was filled with heartwarming moments as graduates shared their experiences and expressed gratitude to their mentors. Alumni from all corners came to connect with their alma mater.
The Director of Student Affairs-Mr M. Talha Asghar warmly welcomed the HITONIANS back to HITEC. He celebrated the success of the alumni and shared the major achievements of 2024 with the alumni community, including the Recruitment Drive and HITEC's impressive runner-up positions in the HEC cricket and basketball matches.

Vice Chancellor-Prof. Dr. S. Kamran Afaq emphasized the significance of connectivity among alumni in creating an active and supportive community. He highlighted the importance of this community in facilitating professional growth for recent graduates through scholarships, job opportunities, and internships. Furthermore, he announced the establishment of HITEC HOPE, an academy that will offer courses on technological advancements to alumni at discounted rates.

The President of the Alumni Association-Mr. Yasir Hamid, announced the launch of the alumni portal. He discussed the impact of AI trends on the job market and the need for continuous learning and growth in the face of technological advancements. Additionally, he introduced the team of HITEC Association members who will work towards bridging the gap between the alumni community and the university.
Vice President-Mr. Ammar Akram announced various upcoming discount programs for alumni. He also shared plans to link alumni for the betterment of the alumni community, generating multiple opportunities for recent graduates.

Several alumni shared their HITEC journey with the audience, including Engr. Dr. Syed Sajid Raza Zaidi, Assistant Professor and Head of Department at NUTECH, and Engr. Dr. Abdul Ahad, Assistant Professor at Air University. While sharing their educational experiences, they acknowledged the guidance and support of their faculty members, which extended beyond academic exposure to professional endeavors.
The senior alumni stressed the importance of community connectivity in generating scholarships and other opportunities for recent graduates.

National Broadband Network Forum 2024

Officials from HITEC University Taxila participated in the National Broadband Forum, organized by the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), which successfully brought together industry leaders, academia, and government officials to strengthen industry-academia linkages and discuss key developments in the IT sector. The prestigious event was graced by the presence of Syed Yousaf Raza Gillani, Chairman Senate of Pakistan, and Ms. Shiza Fatima, Minister of State for IT and Telecom. The honorable Chairman PTA, Maj. Gen. (Retd.) Hafeez ur Rehman, warmly welcomed all the esteemed guests and participants.

Attendees from HITEC University Taxila, who were invited by PTA to attend the forum, included Prof. Dr. S. Kamran Afaq (Worthy Vice Chancellor, HITEC University), Prof. Dr. Junaid Ali Khan (Chairperson, Department of Computer Science), and Dr. Saima Shaheen (Head, Software Engineering Program). In representation of Dr. Saima Shaheen, Mr. Talha Saeed, Lecturer, Software Engineering Department, participated in the event on her behalf.

The event provided a platform for discussions between academia and multiple CEOs from the IT industry. Key areas of focus included enhancing collaboration between universities and the IT sector to address industry needs, promote research and development, and bridge the skill gap between graduates and industry expectations.

The forum successfully highlighted the importance of industry-academia partnerships in fostering innovation and ensuring the growth of Pakistan's IT sector. Attendees shared insights, exchanged ideas, and explored avenues for mutual cooperation to drive progress in the digital economy.

The National Broadband Forum was a significant step towards building stronger ties between educational institutions and the IT industry, aligning with the broader goals of technological advancement and national development.

Blood Donation for Red Crescent Pakistan

A Drop for Life!

HITEC University, in collaboration with the Adventure and Social Welfare Society, proudly hosted a Blood Donation Drive for the Pakistan Red Crescent Society. With heartfelt efforts to raise awareness, our students demonstrated exceptional spirit and compassion, donating over 90 bags of blood to support this noble cause.

HITEC University successfully hosted the HEC Zone E Table Tennis Championship, bringing together talented athletes from universities across Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Taxila, and Kashmir. Kashmir Solidarity Walk

The event concluded with a heartfelt dua led by Dr. Taj ud Din Al-Azhari, seeking strength and protection for Kashmiris enduring hardships.
